Privacy policy

Who this covers

This policy applies to Alpha Chimney Solutions ("we", "us"), to this website at alphachimneysolutions.com, and to the information you give us by form, phone, text or email. It does not cover other companies' websites, even when we link to them.

What we collect

We only collect what you give us or what we need to do the job:

• Contact details: your name, phone number, email address and the address where the work would be done.
• Job details: what kind of fireplace, stove or chimney you have, what you've noticed, the times that suit you, and any photos you send.
• Records from the visit: our notes, photos of the chimney and the work, estimates, invoices and payment records.
• Payment information when you pay. Card and bank payments go through a payment processor, and we don't keep full card numbers ourselves.

Our online forms

The request and booking forms on this site come from Jobber, the software we run our scheduling and invoicing on. What you type into a form goes to our Jobber account so we can reply, set up the visit and keep the job record in one place. Jobber stores that information for us and handles it under its own privacy policy, which you can read at getjobber.com/privacy-policy. The form may set cookies that it needs to work.

What the website itself collects

This site has no accounts and no advertising trackers.

Two things do happen in the background when you open a page. The site's fonts load from Google Fonts, so Google receives your IP address and browser details to send the font files. And the company that hosts the site may keep ordinary server logs: IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. Those logs are used to keep the site running and secure.

We use Google Analytics to see how people find and use the site: which pages they visit, roughly where they are, what device they use, and whether they tap a button such as Call or Book Online. Google Analytics sets cookies to tell repeat visits apart. We don't use it for advertising profiles, and it doesn't receive what you type into our forms. Browsers with Global Privacy Control turned on don't get analytics cookies from us. You can also block them in your browser settings or with Google's opt-out add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

How we use it

• To answer your question, quote the work and schedule the visit.
• To call or text you about your appointment, for example a reminder or a note that we're on the way.
• To do the work, send invoices, take payment and keep records for warranty questions, taxes and the law.
• To follow up after a job, such as asking how it went.

Photos of chimneys we work on may appear on our website or social media. We crop or leave out house numbers, faces, license plates and anything else that would identify you or your home. If you'd rather we didn't use photos from your job at all, tell us and we won't.

Text messages

When you share a mobile number and agree to texts, we use it for messages about your request or appointment. We do not sell, rent or share mobile numbers or text message consent with anyone for their marketing. The only outside companies that see your number are the ones that deliver the messages for us, such as Jobber and its phone carriers.

Who else gets it

Your personal information is never sold. It goes only to:

• Companies that run our business tools: Jobber for forms, scheduling and invoicing, our payment processor, and our phone and email providers. They can use your information only to provide their service to us.
• Anyone you ask us to share it with, such as a home inspector, real estate agent or property manager.
• Government agencies or courts, when the law requires it.
• A buyer of the business, if it is ever sold, who would have to treat it the same way.

How long we keep it

Job records, invoices and photos are kept for as long as the work, our tax and business records, and any later question about the job require. Requests that never turned into a job are deleted when we no longer need them.

Keeping it safe

Access to customer records is limited to the people at Alpha Chimney Solutions who need it, and our software accounts are password-protected. No system is perfectly secure, so please don't email us full card numbers or bank details.

Your choices

You can ask us to show you what we have on file, correct it, or delete it. Email office@alphachimneysolutions.com or call (313) 626-6959. Some records, like invoices, we have to keep for tax purposes even if you ask us to delete the rest.

Children

This site is for homeowners and property managers, not children. We don't knowingly take personal information from anyone under 13.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle information, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
